what is the normal jean size???????????

what has become the norm for jean sizes now, as i was reading on a 'Vogue Forums' they were discussing how come of the voguettes can not find jean sizes over a size 12 in main stream shops such as "General Pants" and "Glue". Which I find really interesting, because you would think with the wast lines of people around the world and the average size of an Australian women being a size 12 then they would stock more size 12 to cater for these peoples. One Voguette went on to say...

"that bigger girls just don't seem to wear jeans"

which i thought was totally wrong because i know many girls and women who are over the size 12 who do wear jeans because i don't think that you can get around life not wearing jeans because they are such a staple piece of clothing that one has in her or his wardrobe.

I just find it really strange how big jeans companies such as "Nudie" etc, do not cater for the so called bigger girls. Another Voguette then went on to say that companies have done market research to show that most of the market likes to buy jeans that are around the size 8-10 which is that most companies order from them.

This idea of most people being a size 8 or 10 makes me think about Anna Nicole Smith who was once a model for "Guess Jeans", she who was known for being a size 14. who was one of the "larger" models for "Guess Jeans" .

I would just like to leave you with this idea, what do you think is the perfect size and why aren't there more size 12+ jeans????
